Over a month ago I responded to "acycle" because that person was disappointed with their event at the Victorian Room and I was freaked out because of course I thought the worst... But I was freaking for nothing... I had my sister's bridal shower on March 13 at the Victorian Room... Yes in all that rain and wind and with the St. Patrick's Day parade in Bay Shore on the same street as the Victorian Room (unbelievable)... But what a blast we had!!! Ok so the lights flickered on and off a few times... But that was due to the weather... And just served to make the decor and our centerpieces look even more beautiful... Patty and the rest of the staff were great... My guests loved the decor of the Victorian Room and the food... And the food I must say was delicious... Passed hors d'oeuvres: hot pigs in a blanket, chicken satay and more; cheese board - assorted cheses: smoked gouda, creamy blue cheese etc., & a lined, full basket of crackers; the omelette station was opened for the full length of time required for quests to receive their omelettes; guests loved the idea of the omelette station; we had pasta, caesar salad, sandwiches; buttery croissants and assorted bagels. There was more than enough food for the guests... Just the way I like it... I cannot say enough how pleased I was with the entire event... I definitely got what I paid for and more... The staff was helpful; Patty was amazing even giving my mother directions when she got lost. The young man who made the omelettes helped me get things from my car in the pouring rain and helped me set up my basket of favours... There was a place setting and seating for everyone of my guests of which probably 50 out of 58 that accepted the invitation attended... And let's not forget the champagne punch... Wow... Delicous... Everyone said they couldn't stop drinking it... It was soo tasty; and my sister's cake was amazing... A huge red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream topping decorated with sunflowers & lilacs... Yummy... Just as I asked Lenny for... I was extremely happy and pleased with the helpful staff and the delicious food... Believe me when I tell you and this is not an exaggeration... I cannot wait to have another function at the Victorian Room... Thanks to the Victorian Room for making my sister's bridal shower a day she will never forget...
