On friday november 7th 12 people became unemployed due to Augustine Lett informing everyone that his restaurant "Augustines Backstreet" would be closing. Without any kind of notice he closed the doors ubruptly leaving us all unemployed on pay day with no money. Leaving one couple unable to pay for the cottage they just rented down the street from the restaurant... Leaving that couple homeless for almost a month before they could get back on there feet. While also leaving others unable to pay their bills. While checks printed from weeks before were being bounced and un cashable.

We were then contacted by his attorney (richard). After all 12 of us, (his former employees) accompanied by a reporter from the lincoln county newspaper and some parents of the younger employees (16-17 yrs. Old) who were left hanging with no paychecks on payday. After we all faithfully worked our hours on our scheduled days... Which we got paid bi-weekly so we were all missing out on two weeks of pay. Plus the checks from the weeks before that got bounced that Augustine Lett promised to have cash for those individuals and never paid them...

Augustine Lett ripped off many many people with no regrets. He is a con artist and it needs to be known. He paid very small portions of the money owed to his workers with his attorney present in the form of a cashiers check. While still owing former employees thousands of dollars that they will never see, owing food purveyors thousands of dollars that they will never see, and owing Colby and Gale in rent and oil over $20,000 that they will never see. Augustine Lett along with his wife Ruth Lett and daughter Renee Lett are all con artist and theives. They steal and rip off from others until it catches up with them, then they move on to there next dirty trick. BEWARE of these CON ARTIST!!!
