Assistant manager called police on my family because we asked for the corparate number to place a complaint

My boyfriend and I took our kids out for dinner at Applebees for dinner. We ordered the nachos and when the nachos came we were eating them and they were way to salty. It was like someone just dumped a container of salt on them. My boyfriend asked for the manager and the assistant manager came out. We explained that we needed a new nacho with out so much salt. The manager said that is the way they come. My boyfriend touched one of the chips and the tip of his finger was covered in salt. My boyfriend explaned that he just got out of the hospital three hours ago from a heart attack and can not have that much salt. The assistant manager told us that we were being very on prefesional about our complaint and we told him we do not have to preffesional we are the custumer. The manager then replied how I handle complaints is I call the police or throw them out of my store. Then he said I will bring out a new nacho for you. The new nachos were good but we did not like how he handled the situation.

When the waiter came I asked for the corparate number and he said he will be right back with it. We paid the check and waited for the number for about ten minutes. The manager came back and slapped the number on the table (which by the way was a bum number) and said here is the number to place your complaint but if you want to place a complaint right now I called the police and they are on their way to talk to you. My six year old got scared and started to cry because she thought the police were comming to get us. My boyfriend told the manager we are not talking to the police and we left. The manager followed us out and tried to write our licence plate number down. I do not understand why this happened because we were not rude about our complaint. We did not cuse or threted or touch the manager. We even paid for our meal. I thought it was a very bad way to handle a complaint It stressed us out real bad.
