Contract vague, deceptive, extortion of client, dirty, filthy utensils - unprofessional business

Contracted for a high end wedding. American Tradition Caterer said they did 'off premise' weddings - their website indicates garden and beach packages. They are very inexperienced with garden weddings and prey on young unknowing couples.

2 days prior to the event the owner extorted more money from us by threatening "not to show" because we didn't have hot water available outside. No outdoor event caterer requires hot water and it was not in his contract. He made up reasons not included in the contract for requiring more money. Fearing they wouldn not show, we gave the owner 150$ in cash as a compromise.

They left dirty tupperware containers filled with cheap mismatching flatware - that upon inspection, was unwashed from the previous event, was rusted and the containers were filled with bugs and food debris. It was disgusting.

The plates were not what was chosen by the bride, the wine glasses were in open cardboard containers and not wrapped in plastic. Because of the possibility of food borne illness from the dirty flatware - I had to order plates flatware and wine glasses from a reputable vendor stat.

I want American Tradition Caterering to pay for the cost of this - $832.00 plus the $150 "sanitation fee" that was extorted from me before the event. This caterer should not be doing outdoor weddings, they are uncertified and deceptive - stay away!!!
