Benegan's
Ripoff consumer rip-off fraud false promises

Some coworkers and I went to Benegan's for a take-out lunch. We clearly expressed this to the waitress when she took our order. She set the clock and told us that we might be in luck with a free meal because the kitchen was behind.

What should have been out in 10-15 minutes took all of 40 minutes. We were still told that we could get our meal free, by other employees there. Mind you, we were late for our jobs because of the delay.

When the food actually arrived, we were given a bill. We asked about the 15 minutes or free policy that she blatantly told us about when we ordered and she said it did not apply to take-out orders.

We told her that she did not tell us that when we ordered and that she made such a big deal out of our meal being free. She tried to act as if we were mistaken, but she forgot to stop the clock that she set.

We asked for a manager who came over and tried to make us feel we had to pay because the food was cooked. We still felt we should not have to pay for food so late when the policy said free. He agreed to take 15% off, which is not what the policy said.

We asked to see this policy in writing and they could not produce it. The menu clearly did not state it. Another employee told us the district manager was in the restaurant at a meeting.

We asked to see him and he refused to come out. Needless to say, I have not eaten at Benegan's since.
