I was doing some Christmas shopping in a certain strip center and a nice double demitasse of espresso piqued my tastebuds and would give me a little boost. I wait in line and order a coffee for my brother and a double espresso for me. I was handed a cup for the DIY coffee and waited for the espresso.

And waited...

And waited...

What is this? Espresso is named such because its fast brewed. Why is it taking so long?

Turns out, the barkeeps were busy filling orders for foofy beverages with complexities approaching nitromethane fuel mixes for dragsters. "Half-latte, half foam with a whisper of coco and some nutmeg... Make it decaff"

Where is my espresso? Wait, you have to make espresso for a latte... I'm being ignored so I complain. What do these idiots give me? A freaking hot chocolate!

I was eavsdropping on the barkeeps' conversation with a young woman. He held intently on her accounts of her bisexual nature and how her boyfriend didn't mind her butch girlfriend. And I was ignored.

Forget Starbucks. They absolutely stink in service and all these trendy gen-x'ers and later ilk who think this is so cool need to wake up and smell the coffee, unadulterated and jet freaking black stong enough to stand a spoon up.
