DaVincis Italian Sidewalk Caffe
Ripoff beware using credit card online

Cafes, Bars, Restaurants

Use caution with credit cards when ordering online from davincis.com! I used a card for an order and received the message that the card information was incorrect. I stupidly retyped everything, making sure that all info was correct.

Well, I received the same error message again. I did receive two e-mail confirmations on the order, but no message with delivery time. I waited, but no order was ever delivered. Since my cell phone, my only phone, was dead on the charger, I didn't have a way to call to check on the order.

That was on Thursday, January 6. The next day, there were two authorizations on my credit card for davincis.com. On Tuesday, January 11, both charges were posted from my account.

I called the corporate office and was told that they would reverse the charges that day and that I should see the money in my account on Thursday since they transmit their credit card batches at 2:00 am.

Today is Friday, January 14, and the money is still not in my account. The story today is that the credits to my account were made last night and so they were transmitted after the close of business Thursday. It seems that it takes two days to verify that no order was delivered nor a refund issued. After talking to my bank, it is likely that the credits will not be in my account until Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday.
