Inflated appraisal. Rip-off!

I took an original mortgage from Ameriqust in early January. My home was appraised at that time at a value of$73000. Recently I needed to refinance my home as I was getting behind om my monthly mortgage payments.

I again called Ameriquest. They said no problem, your house should be worth $85000, and we can lower your interest rate. An appraiser came, and appraised the house at $40000. He said that I had obtained a bad appraisal the first time. Great!

Now, I am looking at bankruptcy to save my home, as all questions to Ameriquest go unanswered. No one wants to help. The branch manager at Wilkes-Barre is the most obnoxious person I have ever talked to. I reported him to the headquarters at Ameriquest but all you get from them is lip service.
