EMC Mortgage ripoff

EMC Mortgage purchased my loan in June. My mortgage payment is paid through my bank and I have never been late. EMC is now saying I owe escrow fees and has been calling my husband at work and calling our home constantly. We have never had an escrow account and when I tried to explain this to EMC they just say pay the bill. I paid my October mortgage on 09/29/04 EMC cashed the check on 10/04/04 but never applied the payment to the account because they said I owed an additional $264.65 for October. These fee were never on my October statement. Fearing they would add late fees then report me to the credit bureau I paid the additional fee. They then added a late fee and started calling again saying I owed the late fee plus an additional $163.64. I had them remove the late fee but they said they re-evaluated my taxes and they add additional fee and I need to pay them.

My mortgage payment changed 3 times in the month of October. My payments have not posted to my account as of today's date and I can never get an honest answer. I spoke with an attorney and he suggested I pay them first and dispute it later and I took the advise. If EMC reports me to the credit bureau it would be impossible to refinance with another company. I check my account daily by going to www.emcmortgagecorp.com to see what new charges they have added. You really have to stay on this company. Refinance the first chance you get.
