Tried to get me to go to my bank and cash a check for $3,455.00

I recieved a check in the mail that told me to call a number for confimation, I was then told to take the check to my bank and cash it when I ask if I could take it to the bank it was suppose to be drawned on I was told do not take it to wells fargo take it to my bank and cash it after which I am filing this report, first of all I did not enter a sweepstakes
