Michael Surgent urged me to allow him to assist me with a mortgage modification and defaulting credit cards in 2009

In October I was given Mr. Surgent's name as someone who could help with mortgage modification and/or credit card default and dealing with the credit card companies to get the rates lowered and payment decreased. I met Mr. Surgent at his office in Marietta, GA (mid October). I spoke with him for about an hour and he handed me "testimonial letters and statements" from people he had claimed to have helped. He urged me that he would help me with the "devils" who were trying to take my home and charging me more money that what I owed. Me, being in a state of desperation, I gave him a deposit of $150 for their assistance. His receptionist, Misty, ran my card thru a machine for the money.

I regret that I trusted Mr. Surgeant and provided a down payment of $150 on the first visit and another 2 payments of $250. After several weeks of no information from Trininty, scared of losing my home, I contacted the mortgage company and they stated they never received any loan modification information from Trinity Corp. Or anyone representing them. After 4 weeks I realized they have done nothing to assist me with my credit cards or mortgage, other than take my money. Mr. Surgeant would not speak to me after that first meeting. He would have Misty call and speak with me for the last time in mid-November asking for more money. I sent several faxes to their office, called several times demanding a refund. She triedto transfer me to someone named Ms. Hames who I did speak with and told her "the company has done nothing and I'm not giving you more of my money to do nothing too! You're a bunch of thieves and I want a refund, can you help me with that?!"

This man, Mr. Surgeant had pictures of his family and spoke of how they are debt-free... I guess so from his deceptive business practices!
