Greedy and Abusive

My loan was originality made with Conseco Finance in 2000. It was for a mobile home. The price was 68,000. Had 11% interest.

We hit a rough patch in the road and got behind. We filed chapter 13 bankrupcy trying to keep everything like responsible people do. Our payments were way to high and the bankrupcy was dismissed.

Our payment to Conseco was 733.51. They called and offered to give us a forebearance payment dropping it to 404.00. They told me if we made that payment for 1yr. Never late and no grace they would leave the payment at the lower rate for the duration of the loan. What a deal!!! Should of known better. 10 months later they went out of business!!! Green Tree took over.

Green Tree said NO WAY. After the yr. Back up went the payment. I found someone to refi and found out the pay off was 84,000. They charged twice for the forebearance.

Needless to say we filed chapter 7 bankrupcy and we let them eat this note.

Green Tree has told me i lied about being told the payment would stay the same. Also heard over and over " If you couldn't afford this why did you buy it." Also was told we needed to get off our butts and get jobs. (we have jobs)

So thanks to Green Tree our credit is ruined and we now live in a rented house.
