American Education Services
Most stressful way to manages huge debt

Business & Finance

I had a lot of problems getting in school deferment of my loans while I was in law school. It turns out they had all of my loans on forbearance which accumulates interest... I don't know if it was ever adjusted.

On top of that after I graduated I went through a periord from June -October where I had to call multiple times a week to try to get the repayment plans sorted out. They sent multiple letters about new repayment plans waivering from $55/month to around $1500 / month! I was in constant fear that I would somehow default or get poor reports to credit companies.

It was so bad that when I called to ask them to help it was as if the phone answerers (they wont give names or any numbers unless under very rare circumstances) intentionally changed things on the account to cause more problems.

They are handling huge amounts of money and loans that have a huge effect on peoples lives for long periods of time and I don't think most people that answer the phones have had more than an hour of training. They could care less and you are strung along for the ride.
