Fleet Credit Card Investigation is bias and does not meet federal standards. Beware!

Upon requesting a standard credit report I found out that there were a number of accounts opend under my name using my social security number. I further found from quenstioning the creditors that the accounts listed me as dead. I immediately contacted my local law enforcement which forwarded me to the FTC. Little did I know that I was a victim of identity theft.
Upon filing a report at both the local and federal level. I followed the guidlines set forth I contacted the credit reporting agencies as well as the creditors and law enforcement.
The reporting agencies investigated and concluded that it was fraud and identity theft and dismissed the reports from my record.
Law enforcement did likewise in cluding the United States Secret Service.
The creditors, complies ALL EXCEPT FLEET CREDIT CARD SERVICE. Not only did they treat me as if I was a common criminal but did not take into account police reports, secret service reports, banking instituion reports and the important fact that I was a victim of identity theft.
They said that I am still liable for the account because there were signatures on cheques paid to fleet (meanwhile they were proven forged) and that my wife (meanwhile I have never been married) authorized the account.
All which in court could be disproven. When the Secret Service and my atty requested copies of FLEETS evidence they refused to release them.
Financial to Law enforcement institutions including myself feel that FLEETS investication was substandard and showed bias.
They were not willing even to listen. They judged and finalized their decesion before I could provide legal affidavits of fraud and identity theft.
I recomend that anyone dealing with Fleet be aware that they do not care about the consumer only their bottom line.
If you have a Fleet Card. Close the account!!! THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!!!
