Bring your car where you want to get it fixed

Was in an accident, found not at fault, contacted my insurance-Allstate. They recommended that I go to two places in the area to get my vehicle looked at. I did and allegedly got the vehicle fixed in March. Called Allstate in June to complain about my vehicle not functioning properly. I was advised to bring it back to the garage and did so in June. My check engine light went on in the beginning of September in which we had it towed to the dealership. The dealership mentioned that the engine seized and it was accident related. The garage is denying anything to do with the seized engine. Allstate is siding with the garage that they recommended. Did I happen to mention that this is a 2009 vehicle which only has 34,000 miles on it, in which we are the only owners of the vehicle ever. So with two kids we are out of a vehicle and either have to take this to small claims court or sue. What would you do? What advise can you give me?
