Charged before work compl - dental

My credit care was charged the first day I spoke with the dentist. I did not want to continue when I learned my insurance would not cover I had nothing done. When I called the dentist they said they would still change $8,000 out of9,500. I called Care Credit. Told them I did not have the work done and why was I charged They daid they could do nothing, to call the dentist. I am paying off $7,000 with 14.99% without a job. It been a nightmare.
