Lied-Preventative Care Misrepresented

My insurance plan covers preventative care including a colonscopy. After having a physcial and at the urging of my physcian I had a PREVENTATIVE colonscopy (I had intended to at 50, but time flies).in the process of this procedure a polyp was removed. It was tested and was thankfully non-cancerous. Though insurance paid something, I am being billed $1200. It appears that because a polyp was removed it is not longer preventative, though no where in my benefits does it say it is only covered if nothing is found; not did the doctor say IF we remove a polyp you realize this may not be covered by your insurance. It is a scam and I will be taking it to the insurance commissioner. I never saw the polyp... I thought I was going in for a routine preventative colonscopy - instead I have a $1200 bill. It is WRONG. If you have had similar experience speak up, it is the only way it can possibly change.
