Car lease rip-off liars

I voluntarily repossed my 1998 jeep grand chrokee on nov. 1st 1999 due to marital problems i could no longer afford the lease payments. At no time was i told by the car dealer or the lease company (allfirst bank) that i would have any financial obligation after returning the vehicle. The jeep was sold at auction for 16,800 dollars.

I just recentely recieved a letter from allfirst bank saying i owed imediately 12,981.60 dollars for the remaing balance on my lease agreement. You can imagine my shock and horror reading these words. After numerous conversations with john hill at allfirst bank he stated to me if i did not make monthely payments my wages would be attached and i would be respocible for incurring legal fees to recoup the money i owe. Help me please i am desperate.
