No Call List Harrassment - credit card processing

Crescent Processing Company has been soliciting our office for months and we have always asked to be put on a no call list. We were getting at least four calls a week from them.

Earlier this week they called and said that they could not respect our request to be put on a no call list unless it came from the owner. So, we allowed them to speak with the owner and he told them he wanted to be put on a no call list, and they still attempted to sell him credit card processing which he is not interested in purchasing.

This morning I received another call from them asking to speak to the owner by name. I told them that he had asked to be put on a no call list, which they denied occurred, and said they would not respect my request to be put on a no call list since I was not the owner.

Is this a new industry standard? Is this behavior NOT acceptable to other businesses? Being asked to be put on a no call list is an absolute request and company policy here in our office regardless of who it is directed from.

This is harassment and not acceptable! If you agree please don't associate yourself with this company.
