Goverment grant ripoff

I got a phone call saying they worked with the goverment to issue goverment grants. I could get between $8,000 to $25,000. All I had to do is pay the $249. Processing fee. This fee would not be taken until the grant was issued. I was given a special number for my file. All I had to do was give my checking account number. So they could deposit the check. A rep would come to my house to fill out the paper work in a few days. I was given a govement ID number of the attendent on the phone and a costomer care number (that did work).

Two days later $249. Was drawn out of my account. I called the customer care center they said they would report the misrepsintation of the attendent on the phone because no one would be coming to the house they would be sending out a packet and they need the funds to send the packet out. They said they do not give money back but because of the misrepsintaion I may get my money back.

The person on the phone did have a Eastern accent.

When I called the customer care again they couldn't do anything unless I gave them my checking account Number. I told them they already had it. They said they were a customer care for 500 Companies and couldn't do anything if I didn't give them my account #. I am now shutting down my bank account.
