Tried to have me jailed for check fraud when i failed to pay the loan

I took out a loan from peppercash. I defaulted on the loan because I was in so deep I could not find a way out. They never contacted me or tried to work out any payment arrangements, instead they waited almost a year and then threatened to have me jailed for check fraud. Now I have not only had to pay off what they claim the check amount was which I disagree with, but they are making me pay an additional 400 dollars in fees. I never meant to defraud anyone and would have tried to pay them had they contacted me before they threatened to prosecute. Also they would only give me two days to come up with a partial payment even though I informed them that I have been very ill after sustaining a life threatening injury and hadn't worked in two months. I still am going to have to make arrangements to pay the remaining fees. These people are ruthless and I wish someone would pass a law making them illegal. That also makes me wonder if they even were operating within the laws of the state I live in. Avoid this company at all cost. If you get involved with them you will be sorry.
