I am another victim of MBNA's creepy credit card division. I have been a long-time (since the 1980's!) customer, I have NEVER missed a payment, I have NEVER had a late payment. MBNA has frequently increased my credit line without my asking "because I was a good customer".

But suddenly, once I actually used this credit line, they increased my APR to 19.99%. The notice of the increase was in micro-small type on a tiny sheet insert in a recent bill. If I had not read the entire notice carefully I would have missed this.

Luckily I spotted this creepy attempt to gouge me, and notified them in writing that I refused this change and would not be using their card anymore. A phone rep told me that if I paid off my balance they would "consider" a lower rate. They are a bunch of greedy creeps - DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH MBNA. As soon as I can I am going to pay off my balance and cancel my card. Good Riddence!
