Ripoff ripped off and scammed

I've been a member since I attended UCLA in 1994. I have always been very tactful in paying my bills on time. Because of my good rating with MBNA, so they say, they've raised my credit line to $13,800. I have in past been having finance problems but not to a point of paying late but for using most of my credit line.

I have in the past paid-off MBNA but I was lured to stay because of my situations at the time.

On 07-08-03 I Paid MBNA $13855.66 in full, but the bill is not due until 07-18-03. After the 8th I called MBNA to check my balance, at the time I was told my balance to be Zero.

On 07-28-03 I received a statement from MBNA billing me $204.92 finance charge. I called customer service and I was told that they don't pre-bill their customers on finance charge so therefore their billing me the finance charged owed to them.

And here's another thing, my rate went up to 27.98% WOW! She told me that I was sent a notice May 29th regarding the change. To me honest I don't recall this increase, if I did I would have done something sooner...

I'm stressed and I feel sad that no matter how loyal and good you are with MBNA they have no other interest but to get you in deeper hole than you already are. Please if you own an MBNA, get rid of it before they con you to stay as long as I have. They know when to play with your emotions. Don't get fooled. Christmas is coming up. They'll make you feel good then. And break you apart once you make your first move to do what's right... Pay-off your bill.

My account is closed now I just need to pay this finance charge that they slapped me with this month.
