I recently acquired a Capital One credit card with a minimum security deposit of $49, and agreed to an annual fee of $29, however, in my first billing statement I was charged a "member" fee of $29. I called the company twice, and even though I was recording the phone call, the supervisor named Rhonda told me that her company cannot charge me multiple fees. I explained that the words "member" and "annual" have two different meanings, and she indicated that she wouldn't remove the charge, giving me the run-around for the 2nd time. Don't use Capitol One. It looks like they will charge people a "member" fee as well as an "annual" fee. They have gotten so good at this that they even include a statement on their letter saying "If we made a mistake... Let us know." I hope this company goes out of business.
