Ripoff on so-called 3,000.00 credit line credit card for 299.00

Was called at home about a credit card that would be issued to me if I put down a 299.00 one time processing fee that would never be charged again. I was told that this explicitly was not a fraud and that I would definitely be getting a 3,000.00 dollar credit limit because their bank was willing to issue it, only after I paid the 299.00 one time processing fee.

They never said anything about a package arriving.in fact, they told me that I would be mailed the credit card, and that once I got it that I would need to call and have it activated. What I received was a stored value mastercard!

What is that? I never was told anything about a stored value credit card. They told me it was a credit card just like any other credit card. Well, I was dissapointed because I realized that I had been taken.

So I called the number that was listed within the package to get a so-called refund that I have never gotten. When I called they told me to send the package back and that I needed to fax a letter to them and they gave me a number to fax it to. I did both and still, weeks later got no refund. (They took the money out of my bank acct. On March 23) There was no response when I would call, they would not give me anyone in charge, the people who I talked to said that they had nothing to do with the refund department. They said that they would have people call me back and that they would put the information into their computer for the financial department to call back.

After this runaround, I still got no refund. I had faxed them a copy of my bank statement showing that they took the money out also. Everytime I called I got the same customer service rep. And never got anyone different, they said there was no phone number for the financial dep.

After calling them at least 25 times, I told them that I was not getting off of the phone until I spoke with someone from the financial dept., then the person I spoke to put me through to someone else into customer service and found that there was in fact a number to the financial dept. But they weren't allowed to give it out.

Where do I turn from here, I have done everything I feel I can, and still am getting nowhere???
