Screwed me BIG TIME! Definitely something fishy going on here!

I received a call from Windham Pros during the Spring 2009. The rep explained that if I paid $96/ month for the next 9 to 11 months, then my student loans would be taken out of collections, taken off my credit report and given to a new lender. Then I would make pay back arrangements with my new lender. I agreed.

Every month Windham Pros sent me a payment reminder in the mail. I had an 18 day grace period after the date the payment was due. If I was a day late, Windham Pros reps were "blowing my phone up". Leaving me messages, sometimes very rude, saying that I NEED to make this payment now and if I dont call them back I could get my wages garnished! Jeeze! After about 10 months of making payments, I received a packet in the mail. All kinds of paper work that I had to fill out and send them. I did so in a very timely manner. I was sooo relieved that I had finished my payback time with them. That month I did NOT receive receive a payment reminder in the mail, and after the 25th of the month (the day my payment was due) I never received a single phone call from Windham Pros.

After about a month and a half, I called Windham Pros to find out what the next steps were. Like who was my loan going to? Because I leterally heard nothing! They informe me that I was kicked out of the payback program for not making my last payment! Say what?!!?! I argued with the lady that that could not be the case! I made all of my payments and that if I did owe another payment someone would have called me. Because they were very on top of calling you! But Nooo! No one called me to let me know I had one more payment? Like I said they sent me a patment notice every month by mail and they also called me the very next day if I did not make my payment right away, even though I had an 18 day grace period. I asked to speak with a manager. The manager was no help. She said that someone did call me. I asked her When? She couldnt verify! When I asked her if that someone did call me why didnt they leave me a message? She said because they dont leave personal information over voicemail? What!?? You most certainly DO leave personal messages! I told her it was her herself that left me the messages! (She had a very distinct voice and also had the same name as the "person" that left me the messages!) She cut me off every second and said that if I would have made the payment I wouldnt have been kicked out of the program. Im sorry lady, but why after 10 months of payments why would I not make the last payment??? If I for some reason didnt have the money or something came up, I would have called and made other payment arrangements or heck, even borrowed it from someone, IF that was the case, which it was NOT!!! I wouldnt screw myself over $96 measilly dollars! She then told me that they would be happy to make arrangements for 6 additional payments and then after I make those payments I could be considered to be accepted back into the program!

I was and am still very upset over this. I feel that they did this to me on purpose! Something is just really fishy! But where do I go from here? Where did the nearly $1000 I paid to them go??
