CAMCO Capital Acquisition And Managment Company RIPOFF

Today a family member received a collection notice from CAMCO for thousands of dollars for an account from a bank. I called every possible customer service number for the bank and the company that acquired the bank and they cannot find the account or any trace of my family member in their records. None of this appears on any of her reports from the three major credit reporting agencies. Her credit is clean. It could very well be a time-barred account by the statute of limitations but I sincerely doubt my mother ran up 10k in debt and decided not to pay it! At any rate it is not an account for which she should be held responsible.

What is even more preposterous is that the collection letter gives her the name of a rep at 866-602-6307 and directs my mother to call between 8am and 8pm for assistance. When we called that number all we reached was her voice mail. That was the case for a few hours. I finally ran a search on-line and came upon this/your site which listed another number. Well, that number goes to an answering service.

When I asked to be directed to management or legal at CAMCO, they said that they could only direct me to the extension that I already had and got nowhere with& NIA's. I said that the letter we received directed me to call between the hours of 8am and 8pm. The person at the answering service then had the nerve to tell me that CAMCO reps don't take calls until noon and to "read the fine print" because noon IS BETWEEN 8am and 8pm. I just about died!

If I get anywhere with CAMCO I will indeed report.
