Allen and Associates DECEPTION IN COLLECTIONS! Rip-off!

Beware america's cash express and other "payday loan" consumers...

... There is a company in Jacksonville, FL, known as Allen and Associates who collect on these default "payday loans" and are using intimidation and posing as law enforcement agencies to collect these debts. Associates will use the terms "we will have you arrested in 48 hours if you do not make restitution" and "do you know it is a felony in your state for a worthless check?"... And even the statement "we will call your employer and verify your salary and GET WHAT WE WANT." Do you believe any of this? Well... It's not true.

No collection agency can threaten to have you arrested, more or less on these returned checks. Merely what has happened is that the check cashing company deposited your check and the "collateral" (your check) was not received. The check is not an NSF... It is merely a defaulted loan. All these check cashing places can do is seek a small claims judgment on you if you do not pay it back.

If anyone feels they have been victimized by one of these collection agencies who use legal and law enforcement tactics, do not hesitate to contact your District/State Attorney's Office or the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-FTC-HELP, or 1-877-382-4357. They (the FTC) will be glad to hear your case against these sharks who threaten police action against the innocent. Just recently, another company in Jacksonville... Ditore, Ruibal, and Associates, was shut down and forced to pay over $100,000 in restitution for their actions.

Don't let these idiots push you to insanity. You can make a difference by putting them out of business.
