Geico had been a great car insurance company, but when I bought my home they changed. I bought an older home with no central air. I bought the home in July. First year in the home was fine. The next summer I noticed severe mold/mildew on the walls in the basement and a musty odor throughout the whole house. It took over 7 calls and more than 4 months before someone came out.By that time summer was over and we were into fall. The smell was not as pungent when the house is not hot. The agent told me he saw nothing severe and that my deductible was $1000 and he saw about $350 worth of clean up work, so it would be better if I did it myself, which I did. The next summer the problem came back with a vengence.

I had my home inspected by the Environmental Services Dept of Md, who declared my home uninhabitable. Geico sent an agent who claimed that the condition had worsened due to neglect although I keep all my receipts from the cleaning agents and products and compaines I had used to try and get a handle on the problem. Then they mysteriously cancelled me three months later for a late payment I made two years prior. Go figure. Now I am without a home, but still having to pay the mortgage on it.
