I was referred to Homeowners Loss Mitigation Advocate in February through a customer of mine. I decided to utilize their services despite what I had heard about loan modification companies. I turned in my packet in Mach 2010 and waited. After months and months of delays I finally thought I was getting somewhere because in November my lender (Bank of America) was setting up an escrow account, paying the taxes, etc. When I spoke with Stephen Vesper (who I found out later was the supposed owner) about this, he said that this was a good thing meaning that it if they were going through all that trouble, my modification might get approved. Needless to say that by March I was declined for all modifications so I asked for my refund. They said the file had to be reviewed for accuracy and that would take 60 days.

Finally in May I received the paperwork to fill out for my refund. I was told that would take 6 weeks. I waited patiently but received nothing. I finally spoke with Steven Vesper at the beginning of August and he said that the company had a separation with My Home Advocate and that their funds were in escrow until the beginning of September and that since he was the "owner" he would do his best to get me my money after that, even if he had to wire it himself. When I did not receive any word from him, I left him several message on his voice mail but he never returned my calls. Eventually his phone was disconnected. I have also left several message with a colleague (Chris) because his phone is still active but I have not heard back from him.

DO NOT UTILIZE THIS COMPANY!!! They will do nothing for you and you will never see your money again.
