Ripoff call last week about a debt that had been paid off 17 years ago!

I received a call last week about a debt that had been paid off 17 years ago. I was advised to get an attorney. When I received a letter past the date allowed per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, it had a wrong Account Nbr. Showing, an amount higher than what had been given to me a week prior, and no date showing for the debt. It looked like it was owing now.

After calling and leaving a message to the General Manager, Carl Ball, he advised me that the debt had been paid and to disregard the letter. All this happened in one week. I happened to go on-line and see that this is a fraudulent company. I even told Mr. Ball that as well. I am angry that they would even think to go after a debt that had been taken care of 17 years ago. I will be pursuing this for making my life miserable.
