Ripoff

I had a credit card turned over to NCO Financial for collections. After a couple of months of paying substanial payments I was able to pay the balance. Per a telephone call with NCO I was told they would settle the balance for a lower amount. I asked if the balance would show up on my credit report and she told me no, that it would show the balance as 0.

I agreed to pay what she settled for and that I was clear. I applied for a loan and found I still was showing an outstanding balance on my credit card and was denied. I tried to call them but was informed of the office hours as being 8 to 5 Monday through Friday, and 8 to 12 on Saturday. However, when they were calling me for payment, it was 7 days a week until 9 each night.
