Citifinancial - Associates - Avco ripoff - offered help but gave nothing but lies and deceit

We had several loans through citifinancial through the years first starting with Avco, then The ASSociates and last but not least Citifinancial. We dealt with Lisa Ferri all times, at the time she seemed like a very nice person, but tell her you have to file for bankrupcy and did that change. We didn't have the current loan for very long and my husbands job fell on hard times and ended up going bankrupt, which in turn sent us down that path.

Well per my lawyer I notified everyone including Lisa at Citifinacial but that didn't stop the phone calls and nasty messages. Lisa knew we were at our wits end and gave us call one day telling us that they could offer a bit of relief. We ask what that was and she said if we came in and signed a few papers that they could give us a month off and our payments would be $15.00 less a month, which under pressure this sounded like a blessing.

Sure it was, they managed to sign a different loan number making like we signed for a new loan after the bankrupcy was filed, which makes no sense since we did not benift from this new loan, we did not receive any monies, no bills were paid, they even said we called them. I wrote to the BBB and some guy we never dealt with called me a liar, he said we got the loan after the bankrupcy when in fact we already had the loan they just changed the loan number to make like we got a different loan. We thought we were going to lose our home but were told we could save it with a chapter 13, so last June or July we file chapter 13, all were notified and Citifinacial never came forward, we were told by our lawyer that they would not get their money anyway since it is unsecured.

It has been almost 1 year since filing and on 4-2-04 I received a letter from the courts telling us we now have to pay them their money? Our lawyer said not to sweat this and it won't happen but damn how can you not sweat it. These people are nothing but Predatory lenders and how they get away with this is unbelievable! We need to get this stopped. Now I will probably lose my house and they will still get NOTHING!!! We just wanted everyone to know what kind of people they are and to please stay away from them!!!
