Second Mortgage Ripoff

We paid $4521.98 in points on this loan, described in writing as "Prepaid Finance Charge" and described verbally by the manager, Jon Predmore, as "so you won't have any prepayment penalty".

After almost three years (and payments of $783 a month), we are now seeking to pay this loan off and the payoff is $3000 more than the original amount financed because of a $3472.28 Prepayment Penalty.

When I pointed out that we were promised no prepayment penalty at the time of payoff because we paid it upfront, the Wells Fargo Financial official said that "there have been issues at the San Jose office and we have replaced the staff... You should try us now..."

"Sorry there is nothing we can do..."

The manager of the San Jose office lied outright about the charges... More or less acknowledged by the main office in Des Moines... And they still refuse to do anything about it.
