Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
After refinancing, my old lender, Wells Fargo, owes me $1198.46 that was in my impound account... Nationwide

In early March I refinanced my mortgage, leaving Wells Fargo. During the switch, both lenders paid my current county tax installment, with my money of course.

When I called my county tax office, I was told my new lender's tax payment was received and recorded first, Wells Fargo's payment was received and recorded second. Therefore, the tax office said, they will reimburse Wells Fargo.

When I called customer service at Wells Fargo and explained the problem, the person said he would investigate and call me back. He called me back and told me that he called my county tax office and their (Wells Fargo's) payment was received first and that the new lender agreed to repay me. This is denied by the tax office and my new lender.

When I called Wells Fargo's customer service again I was told by a different person that he would check into it. The next week I called him back and he said he was still investigating. One call to the tax office is all the investigating required!

The amount of money is $1198. It is my money. I never once was late for my mortgage payments to Wells Fargo. If I had been there would have been a penalty. They shouldn't be allowed to keep my money.
