CAUTION - merchant accounts

We switched to 1st American from another card company because they promised a lot of things that seem appealing, like lower rates, and no contracts or cancellation fees. It was a painfully slow process trying to switch. The sales rep made repeated mistakes in processing and while she always claimed that all of our needs would be "no problem", we had problems every step of the way. Debit was never processed, so the first time we downloaded we went for weeks without being able to do debit transactions. Our carwash terminals were never successfully downloaded, and when I asked about how we would be able to take WrightEXP cards, she never informed me that we would have to buy a certain type of terminal for that, just claimed all we had to do was fill out the paperwork. I tried repeatedly to call about different issues, always getting promises of a call back that never happened and when we finally did get out first partial bill in, it was over $300 more than our previous merchants. This whole experience was a nightmare.
