Threatening phone calls for pay day loan

I was contacted Feb 2 by agent Sterling, from Rosenthal & Stein & Ass. She told me that I had taken out a pay day loan in May and the company had tuned over the file to her office. I said, I paid that off along time ago.

She said argumentally that I had not, and that I would be aressted, my employers would be contacted. I said maem, what is the name of this payday place? I will personally contact them, and further my self in paying them.

She said, it was out of there hands, that it had been turned over to her office for collection. I owed $1090.00, I said, there is no way I got that kind of a loan. She said, that included her companies fees and late fees from the PDL company.

After alot of yelling at me, I was concerned that maybe I did get a loan back then, and didn't pay it, she had me feeling like she was right and I was wrong, after all she was an agent. My husband had been diagnosed with cancer, and was not working for awhile in 2009.

By this time thru her threatening me with criminal action, calling social security, she had me. I agreed to pay at the rate of $187.12 starting 2/24, and ending 8/24.

I made the arrangements for bank checking info, and paid my first payment 2/24, the second, 3/24.in April, I had called her with not being able to pay April's payment do to my illness. After my 3rd payment on 5/24. I called to speak to Agent Sterling, and they fumbeled on the phone, then Agent Jackson came on and said she no longer works here, and said, I owe no more money???

I've since been doing my own research and know I was scammed!!! Barbara, Spring Hill, FL
