Fine print on APRs misleading at best - Care Credit credit card

Was offered CareCredit at dental office as means to pay for work proposed and needed. Foolishly I accepted the offer. I have made all payments on time, but because I did not meet "promotional deadline" on parts of service, I received $800 on a recent bill in back interest being charged at 25% on remaining balance. I called, no deals available on reducing APR. Had I known about the retroactive interest at 25% I never, ever would used this service.
It was probably in some fine print somewhere which was written in a language that is only derivative of English. Sigh. "Fool me once..."
