Ripoff

I was called by Dustin Mitchell of the Credit Education Group on April 28, and solicited for a credit card with at $2500 credit limit. Not being fully cognizant at the time what was going on I fell for it. Being on a fixed income, I post dated the payment out several weeks to the 13th of May.

Realizing upon hanging up that this was a ripoff, I called them back and cancelled (much in advance of the post dated check date around May 8) thinking that the cancellation had taken place and no funds would be withdrawn from my account.

Instead, the funds had immediately been taken from my account in spite of the promise they would not be until the date of the post dated check. This I did not realize until my bank statement was received for the month.

I called my bank and went in and filed an affidavit. My bank, National City Bank, was not very helpful either.By the time they took any action whatsoever on it, they informed me that the time limit they imposed on recovery of funds had passed. Strange! So, I am out of $299.

I considered this to be an unauthorized withdrawal. I
canceled well in advance and the funds should never have
been withdrawn from my account.

Since that time I have made numerous calls to CREDIT EDUCATION GROUP and have been promised refund. I have talked to Nancy the customer service manager at 1-888-646-8386, Jasmine, Corsia, Shirley, Allison. Nancy has promised numerous times to call me back, even told me that my reund had been approved and was being processed she had reviewed it herself. I have never received a return call nor have I received a refund.
