Capital aquisitions and management company - ripoff attempt to collect 18 year old discharged debt

This company attempted to coerce me into paying off an 18 year old debt which was lawfully discharged in a bankruptcy proceeding in 1985. Please note that the company claims to be located in Illinois but when you call them they are in Jamaica.

Upon advice from them I looked them up on the internet and came upon this site. My story reads much the same as many others (long ago alleged debt that is just now surfacing). Even after offering to supply them with the court case number from the bankruptcy they are still insisting that I fax them proof.

They try to make it sound like they are giving you a break, i.E., wiping off all accrued interest and only charging you 60 cents on the dollar of the original debt amount. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE A RED CENT.

There is no doubt in my mind that upon proof of legal discharge of this account they will sell this paper to the next blood sucking collection agency as soon as they can. Bottom line is you'll end up dealing with another collection agency in some other underdeveloped country looking to turn a cheap profit.
