Recently i made the mistake of filling out every online credit card application i could find. I'm a single mother, living off of student loans as it is, while going to school. And with Christmas coming. You know the deal.
Anyway, today i walked to my mailbox and saw an envelope with the return address of First National Credit on it. I felt the envelope, almost pissed my pants because i could feel a credit card inside. And eagerly tore it open.
So i'm staring at this card... And can't find a damn Visa or Mastercard symbol on it anywhere. I notice the first digit of the card number is a seven and i realize it's crap. I read the letter stuck to the card, which is attempting to solicit not only a 99$ fee, plus a 199$ fee, (which would be charged automatically to the card) But these jokers also wanted me to send them a money order for 37$ just to receive this card!
THe back of the letter went on and on and on and on, offering no less than five other cards with varying credit lines/limits... IF i'd send the cash to receive them. NAAAH!
They didn't manage to sucker this country bumpkin! Even Mainers know better than this! I can't believe how widespread this scam is. Thank GOD i found this complaint site!!! Spread the word.
Good luck to you all.
