Foreclosed After Fire Despite Promise of Loan Modification

We had a fire at our house in July that was were first given the run around by our mortgage company putting us on hold from person to person on the phone. Finally after calling every day someone at the mortgage company said we needed to do a loan modification to redo our mortgage and that they would not foreclose on our property and that they would send out the papers for the loan modification. So we never got the papers and so we called back and then they said we didn't get them because we can file on line so we did. About a week later they foreclosed on the property anyway. No one bought it because it was damaged from the fire. So it went back to the lender. We are still trying to see what we can do about it because they lied to us and told us we would not be foreclosed on. The house is still being worked on by us now to be rehabilitated from fire. This is the money from our insurance we had on the house. The mortgage company said we still don't have anything to do with the house once it is done which it should be finished by the end of June. But they say we are still responsible for fixing it after the fire. We feel we have been mislead and not been treated fairly and can't seem to find the right people to help us. I think it's not fair the way these mortgage company are doing families.
