Sent deposit, told that my loan would be deposited in three days when I called back they said next week. Ripoff drception

I sent my deposit as instructed to a person named Donald Fleming in Georgia, and was told my loan would be deposited into my bank account, in three days, no loan showed up. Called the company, said I didn't list all my liabilities on my application. They told me they pulled up my credit report, and it would have to be resubmitted to the lenders, Notice they told me beforehand that I was approved and all they would need is my deposit, to release the funds. They told me the reason for sending the money to an individual is because that person is bonded. Anyway I am out $500, and am seeking the advice of an attorney to see what can be done. I know I took a chance, and lost, but these types of companies must be taught a lesson to stop promising loans and not delivering.
