Double charging on paid accounts

Northland was gathering a debt that I'd with capitol one on two credit cards. I settled them down in 2004 plus they delivered me a letter of satisfaction.in May they delivered me a statement for that identical debt. I sent them a duplicate of the fulfillment notice, and that I believed that might be the finish of it. Then they delivered me another selection letter Sept. I named them-and they responded that I just reduced just one of the credit cards. Both cards totalled $700.00, the selection was $1750.00, that we paid. Now they're attempting to cost me again. Can they actually escape with this. What may I do about this?
