Real Time Resolutions
Does not follow Fair Debt Collection Practices

Business & Finance

This company bought some debt from a foreclosed home in 2004. They have NEVER contacted me; I had to call them after finding it on my credit report at the end of 2010. They are misreporting dates of default and not providing proof of debt or validating the dates. The dates they are reporting of default are actually after the foreclosure. Anyways, of course, the debt has more than doubled, "according to them" since buying it. Again, I was never contacted by them via phone; email, snail mail, NOTHING. I was hardly underground; I have been employed by the government for the past 5 years! However, they could not seem to find me? I had to go to them. We are trying to apply for credit and this line item is the only thing stopping us. Ironically, because someone dropped the ball at RTR, they are beyond the statute of limitations for suing me inthe state of CO (6 years) and I have confirmed this with an attorney. So essentially, they own an uncollectable debt. I thought I would contact them to see if I could reach an agreement to rectify things with them-I figured someone had to make the first step-they sure did not. Anyways, they essentially went on to ask me for ALL of my personal financial information and I said no. They proceeded to tell me I was hiding something and that I was a liar. I had to ask the "manager", who I had asked to speak to, to stop yelling at me. He said he would not. I asked him to send me any agreement in writing and he proceeded to yell at me and let me know there was no agreement and the next papers would be a lawsuit. I told him I was hanging up since he was yelling at me and proceeded to do so. Ironically, I was willing to give them something-even though it is not a valid debt, even though they cannot sue me for it and even though it is almost at the point it has to drop off my credit report. However, they did not want anything from me without me providing ALL my financial information which I was unwilling to do. There are many many legitimate collection companies that collect unpaid debt and follow the FDCP and FCRA. However, this is not one of them!!! If you are looking to unload some unpaid debt-FIND ANOTHER COMPANY-Do not mar your name by dealing with these incompetent-never even called me-, unethical-yelling and threatening me-and immoral people.

Hire a competent company that follows the law!!!
