Aline Faulty Account, Scam, Rude and Unethical

On Nov 8th my girlfriend recieved a collection notice from the referenced company. She had never seen anything before in reference to this company or account. When she called and spoke with Aileen, the acct rep, they told her they had a signed contract for a time share and she owed them approx $2200. She has never owned or even done one of those "tours" at a time share. She asked for contact information for said time share company, which was Mountain Laurel. They could not find any reference to her in their system via her name or the account info we received from collection agency. Called Pinnacle back and they gave us a different phone number so again we called, this time it was for a company that manufactures faucets and they kinda laughed at us.

So after 3 weeks of waiting for this "contract" and pulling her credit report and there being no reference to it, she talks to them again today and they were very rude and hateful and accused my girlfriend of lying when she said this had nothing to do with her. They said its been in collection for 2 years but yet there is nothing on any of her credit reports and they still fail to provide any proof this debt even exists. After some threats they admit its "possible" they mistakenly attached her information to it based loosely on a name and area we are from. How can they do this? How can they legally access someone's social security information and contact information just based on a name? Heck the time share company honestly didn't even have her name listed in their files! People beware of this company before you just pay them is all I have to say.
