A company called U.S. Benefits called me and were very convincing. They promised that I would receive a Visa card with a credit limit of no less than $1800.00 along with a free cell phone and a free satallite dish. All I had to do was give them my banking information and they would take $299.99 out in two installments, one for $150.00 and one for $149.99. I agreed.
Before the dates came up, I changed my mind and decided to close my account and open a new one so they couldn't take money out on the designated days they were suppose to. After I closed my account, I called and left a msg that I was cancelling my transaction and gave them my confirmation number.
I received a phone call from them on the day the first installment was to be taken out. He said I was now obligated and I would be reported to a credit agency and get a worse credit rating. I told him he can't do that just because I changed my mind, then I nicely said goodbye and hung up. They debited my account anyway even after I refused to give them my new #. They did it the following month after I cancelled knowing when my pay days are.
They somehow were able to still debit my account without authorization. My bank is aware of this and I am filing a dispute for an unauthorized transaction. Don't give your personal information to anyone! Consumers BE AWARE!
