Flagstar Bank fraudently sold my home into forclosure. Never, ever work with them on Obama's "Loan Modification" program

Business & Finance

After President Obama approved the "Loan Modification Program" for individuals who were having financial difficulties we decided to apply for the program through our mortgage bank which is or was Flagstar Bank. We contacted the company and spoke with a M. Culbrick who was our account specialist. She told us that the way this all worked was she was going to send us the paperwork to fill out and we inturn needed to fill it out, include taxes, check stubs and a letter stating why we were needing the modification, which we did. She assured us that the entire process should not take more that 3 to 4 weeks. After 4 weeks we had not heard anything from Ms. Culbrick so we called only to get a recording and left our name and phone number asking her to call and let us know where we stand. After another month went by with no response from ANYONE at Flagstar I called to try to find out why the delay. The person I finally got to speak to after holding for 15 minutes was VERY RUDE and told me that they currently have thousands of applications for this program and they did not have the staff to handle in all in a timely fashion. He said that my repeat telephone calls were making it more difficult for the staff. I was told not to call back for at least 2 more weeks, which I did only to be transferred to M. Culbricks answering machine again. Frustrated my husband called and called until he actually got to speak with her and was told that she now needed housing tax records and another letter stating the need for the modification and that she would get back in contact with us as soon as she received this information. This was all sent to her attention. Finally after 2 more months my husband and I both tried to speak to ANYONE who would fill us in on the progress, unfortunatly the only answers received was that Ms. Culbrick was handling it and she would get back with us as soon as possible. Again another month, no contact from Flagstar. My husband began the gruling task of calling and calling trying to speak to a live person... ANY PERSON who could give us answers. (My husband was not working during this time but we kept sending in our $1000.00 house payments every month) He did get to speak to another person who was taking over some of Ms. Culbricks accounts. We were told that they needed... YET MORE FORMS (The same forms I had already sent twice) filled out and current bank statements, check stubs ect. My husband explained to her that we could not afford the normal house payments much longer and asked how long it would be until we received the new modified payment agreement. She said that she could not guarentee how long but intructed him to stop making the payments because by us making the payments, we were appearing not to need the modification. At this point we were so strapped due to my husband losing his high paying job and being forced to take one at 1/4t h the pay, that I willingly reliquished my car back to the bank that I had the loan through. I was broken hearted and beat down by this point. We just wanted someone to tell us what was going on.
Several more months went by and we called, and called, and called trying to get information. We were never able to get through to a live person and left what felt like a thousand messages... Which were never returned.in June we received a notice stating that if we did not pay $6300.00 by the end of June, we would lose our home. We again contacted Flagstar and spoke with a "Mitgation Specialist" who reassured my husband that this was not the case, and that he needed... You guessed it more paperwork filled out and current bank statements and a letter again outlining our financial need. My husband informed him that we were told not to make any payments until we hear from Flagstar. The "Specialist" agreed and said that he would get right on this and for me to fax the information and email him when I did. This was done the very next day. We called for 8 days in a row trying to follow up as directed. On the 9th day my husband reached a representative who told him that our home had been sold into forclosure and that they no longer owned our home. Being caught off guard like that, my husband desparetly tried to get answers as how this could of happened. The rep agreed with him that it didnt sound right but there was nothing she could do. She gave him the phone number to the Forclosure company and told him that they could shed some light on the situation. Guess what??? She was wrong, the Forclosure company will not give us any details or discuss anything, we were simply told that we would have to wait until we get the forclosure notice in the mail. I know am frantically trying to find out what I can do and wondering each day how long do I have before they kick me out of my home that I have had for 8 years. Flagstar Bank does not care about their customers only about profit. If there are any lawyers out there that can tell me if I have a case to sue this company, I would very much appreciate it. This is the only home my grandaughter knows and she loves coming her as much as I love living here.
