Identity Sweep 360
Identity Sweep 360 Misleading Credit Report Charges while seeking employment

Business & Finance

I was searching for employment on craigslist in Sacramento and while I was putting in my resume to different jobs and companies listed I was happy to see I got a response. I got an email from "Terry Long", saying he "wanted to meet for an informal interview and I needed to bring my license and a printed credit report." The need of a credit report should have been a red-flag right there. When employers are not calling you back, you get a hope that a job opportunity is legit when one contacts you.
I followed the link to the credit report the company claimed they worked with. They wanted my bank info and all my other info such as address, name, and phone number. I filled it in and clicked view scores. Turns out I was about to be charged 84.00 dollars. Since I did not get a receipt or wasnt asked by the page "are you sure you want to purchase" or anything like that I figured I wouldnt get charged.
The worst part was when I tried to email the employer back, he just kept sending the same email he sent in the first place. I cancelled the identitysweep, but Im not confident I will get my money back. On the page in small writing it says you may get a refund within 1 day of purchase. When the charge post on my account its to late to cancel.
I will call again on Monday since I called at closing time on Friday. All I want is a cancellation and atleast a majority of my 84.00 dollars back for something I dont need. Next time a job or employer sends you to a credit report link online, it may be a scam. Either get your own free credit report or disregard the job or employer.
