VANDERBILT mortgage And Finance - oakwood Acceptance
Lied, Rude, Inconsiderate, uncooporative

Business & Finance

We bought a mobile home through a small mortgage company which was taken over be Oakwood Acceptance and then by Vanderbilt. During the time that we owned the mobile home, not one payment was made late. Up until Vanderbilt assumed control of the mortgage we had no problems with anyone. Immediately after Vanderbilt got control we started getting phone calls saying that our payment was late. I informed them that it was not so, because I'm retired military and the payment was deducted directly from my retirement pay before I received it. For years we put up with harrassing calls every month saying the payment was late. My mother passed and it was Sunday that we had the funeral. I got a call from Vanderbilt shortly after the service saying my payment was late. The person I was talking to would not take my situation and hang up but just kept on after to send another payment. I told her that I didn't have the money to send another one and wouldn't if I did. Then she asked me if I went to church? I said I did, and she asked. "Could you ask your church to lend you the money?" I hung up. Then another time, we leased the property we lived on and one it was sold without a notification. The new owner served us with an eviction notice. I called Vanderbilt and asked them could they help with getting the trailer moved. They told me that they could, and to get three estimates from local movers and send to them. I did and then they informed me that they did not provide that service anymore. So I moved it myself. And again it happened and I asked if they would possibly re-finance the mobile home with three acres of land. They refused even though we had been paying on the mortgage for ten years on a fifteen year mortgage. Vanderbilt is a rip off and rude company to deal with. I know of many people who are clients and they all have had the same dealings with them. Even another loan company that helped me with moving expenses said that Vanderbilt was the hardest company they had ever dealt with.
